Angry birds bedroom graffiti mural

Angry birds bedroom graffiti mural commission.

“I had been toying with the idea of some kind of graffiti art for my 3 boys bedroom. I was recommended Lee and from the moment I spoke with him I knew my ideas were possible. He visited to get a view of the room and shortly after sent me some ideas which settled any concerns I had as to if what I wanted would look good and be appreciated and appropriate for my boys aged from 7 to 17. He was open to my ideas with regards to expressions and colours etc and came up with pure brilliance which we all loved! He was a lovely chap who was only too happy to talk to my boys about his art. Lee was reliable, friendly, clean and a pleasure to work with. The artwork and finish was even better than we could of ever expected”

VERY HAPPY & COULDN’T RECOMMEND HIGHLY ENOUGH”

Unitas summer arts college

Back in the summer lee worked with Unitas summer arts college to engage young people with a graffiti workshop and to help produce a mural for the warminster youth centre.

SUMMER ARTS COLLEGES
Summer Arts Colleges are intensive educational projects designed for young people on Detention and Training Orders (DTOs) and subject to Intensive Supervision and Surveillance (ISS). They re-engage these young people in education, training and employment through the provision of vibrant arts experiences.
Summer Arts Colleges were originally launched as part of the Youth Justice Boardand Arts Council England‘s strategic partnership. To date, we have run over 130 Summer Arts Colleges on their behalf, reaching more than 1500 young people in England and Wales. Young people on Summer Arts Colleges work with a unique combination of artists, literacy and numeracy practitioners, and youth justice practitioners.

Summer Arts Colleges aim to:

  • increase educational engagement and facilitate transition into mainstream education, training and employment after the programme
  • provide a structured, full-time, arts-based project, combining arts enrichment and arts appreciation activities, and explore possible routes into employment and careers within the arts
  • reduce levels of (re-)offending among participants during the project and in the following months
  • work with the arts to improve literacy and numeracy skills and to achieve an accreditation through the Arts Award.

Kennet valley primary School

Recently lee has been working with some primary school children at Kennet valley Primary School, the workshops were 2 hrs long and we did 4 sessions over a month.
as you can see they were really in to it and i was amazed how creative they all were.

Canvas Workshops are a very popular workshop activity which can be done inside with paint pens, lee can work with larger groups and the workshop can be done in a day or spread out over several weeks  for example 3-4 x 2 hour sessions.

students will be guided through the design process and shown how to create simple images that are visually striking and relevant to the theme. All participants will be trained in the subtle arts of graffiti and how to achieve the best results of freehand “writing”.
As an option, after you have exhibited the art work, students can take their piece of art home to decorate their own walls.
This is a very popular and engaging workshop and gives the students a sense of ownership and achievement.
please feel free to contact me for a lesson plan and a quote.

Corsham skate park 2011

“In our view, Lee is in the same league as Banksy, just not as well known. He first worked for us in 2006 when he held workshops for young skaters, in order to get their ideas for graffiti design on the then new skate park.He also trained 5 or 6 them who worked under his direction to do some of the work. The results exceeded our expectations, so when the time came to repaint the skate park in 2011, it was a no-brainer to decide who we wanted to do it.
Following consultation with some young skaters (and others) we were able to give a few ideas to Lee about some of the content we wanted to see incorporated in his new design – then left it to him.  Once again, the end result exceeded everyone’s expectations and we were all delighted.Well done Lee”.

Chocolate garden mural

The Chocolate Garden project
We began working with Lee in the summer of 2010 when he responded to a brief we advertised for an artist.  The project was to paint a 68sq.m wall, with a chocolate theme.  The group of residents who initiated the project had fundraised to build a community garden on a derelict piece of ground in the neighbourhood in Weston super Mare. The group wanted a theme of chocolate (the area being called the Bournville), and the history of the cocoa bean from the jungle in South America along its journey to Europe.

Lee was one of 4 artists shortlisted from 8, and work of the final 4 was displayed in the local community centre.  Lee’s work was by far the most popular and had the most votes so he won the work.

Lee worked hard on producing a design for the group, including images from the different eras that the cocoa bean has gone through.  The group were very pleased with the design and Lee began work in January 2011 to complete the work.  Throughout the project Lee has worked hard to meet the expectations of the group which he has done very successfully.  He attended meetings, held workshops with local people and the group enjoyed working with him very much.  The final piece he completed on the wall is incredible.  The detail Lee has achieved with the spray cans is extraordinary, and the wall is an astonishing backdrop to the whole garden.  Lee is a remarkably talented artist and I would have no hesitation in recommending him or working with him again.
